Intermediate Powerboat Day Cruising Course (2 days)

Minimum age: 16*

“To teach powerboating up to the standard required to complete a short passage by day”.

The Intermediate course builds on the skills and knowledge gained at Level 2 enabling the student to plan a longer coastal passage requiring more detailed planning and use of GPS equipment.

The first day of the Intermediate Course students will learn more advanced close quarter manoeuvres and passage planning.

On the second day of the course, students will navigate to a destination in the Bristol Channel using their own passage plan, utilising their skills of pilotage and vessel command.

Destinations include, Barry, Newport, Portishead, Weston-Super-Mare in addition to passaging around the islands of Flatholm and Steepholm.

 

It is recommended that students hold a First Aid and VHF Certificate before attending this course.

* Note: It is Company policy that children and young people under the age of 18 must be accompanied on the course by a parent or guardian.
